The Nutritional Status of School Children Living In Different Socio-Economic Districts of Ankara

Abstract

In this study the nutritional status of 889 children living in different socio - economic districts o f Ankara, aged 9-11 years old was investigated. It has found out that the frequency of meals were increased according to socio - economic status. Generally, the children were having their breakfasts, but eating at lunch were irregular. They were consuming cereal products and fruits between meals. Milk, yoghurt and fruit were also added to the children's diet by the parents. Half o f the children ıvere saving their pocket money but, the others were spending it for buying foods and books.
