Abstract

The ainı o f this stııdy is to determine the relationship bet\veen nııtrients iııtake and obesity in the study height and weight o f 210 women and 210 men w er e measııred who were över than 20 years o f age and living in Samsun and BMI 25 and below onsidered normal and above obese. At the same time nııtrients intake \vere determined. Findings o f stııdy indicated that obese peoples \vere consımıed more energy than normal. Significant positive correlation \vere foıınd bet\veen BMI and intake of energy, total fat, saturated fatty acids and polyıttısaturatedfatty acids (r= 0.24, r— 0.29, r= 0.15 respectively). It can be concluded that obese people coıısume more energy and fat. No relation was fo u n d in the consumption o f vitamin A, C, E, cholesterol and fiber.
