Food consumption, preparation, cooking, storage, buying and socio-cultural status of 276 families living in Gölbaşı tovvn and villages vvere examined. İn tovvn; average individual number of the families vvas 5, most of the families (90.1%) vvere Laborsand officials. In villages; individual number of the families vvas 4, most of the families (85.2%) vvere farmers. 10.5% of males and 28.6% of females vvere ignorant. The families diets usually vvere depended on cereals. Approximately daily diet contains of 3200 calories and 90.3 g protein and the consumption of niacin vvas lovv in the tovvn. In the villages daily diet contained 2934 calories and 105.3 g protein and the çonsumption of niacin and vitamin A vvere lovv, vitamin C vvas in limit. The consumption of other nutrients vvere adequate 16.1% of males and 52.3% of femaleş vvere obese, most of the school and preschool children had normal vveights. Food preparation and cooking mistakes vvere established by most of the housevvives, so that extention nutritional education is necessary for vvoman.
