Nutrıtıonal Status and Hıpertensıon Status In 45-65 Years Old Male Subjects

This study was designed in order to investigate the relationships between hypertension and nutrition status and was conducted in Ankara on 210 male subjects aged between 45-65. 82.4% of the subjects included were employees. 7.1% of subjects were hypertensive. Correlations between body mass index and sistolic and diastolic blood pressures were statistically significant. Average calorie consumption was 2127±406 kcal. No significant relationships were found between hypertension and nutrient intakes, alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking, however tea and coffee consumption was significantly related with hypertension (p<0.05).
