Enzyme-Coenzym Interrelationship in Inherited Diseases and High Dose Vitamin Therapy
Keywords:
inherited disease, coenzym binding deficiency, enzyme mutations, vitaminsAbstract
Approximately fifty inherited diseases are usually due to variant enzymes with decreased affınity for cofactors because of genetic mutations. Feed'ıng high doses of vitamin raises the tissue coenzym concentrations and thereby increases the activity of the defective enzyme and help amelioration o f the disease. In this paper some examples related to these diseases were reviewed.
