This review aims to evaluate the efficacy of Nigella sativa on the immune system and its relationship with coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Black Cumin (Nigella sativa) is an annual herb containing nearly forty active ingredient in its structure. Thymoquinone is the active ingredient of black cumin. Studies on thymoquinone have shown that it supports the immune system and increases the number of immune cells. Nigella sativa is highly anti-inflammatory, high in essential fatty acids and has no significant side effects, so it may be beneficial to use it to support immunity. The whole world is under the influence of the SARS-COV-2 virus. There are many studies on whether Nigella sativa is effective against the SARS-COV-2 virus. Studies have shown that nigella may be beneficial in the progression of COVID-19 disease. However, the number of studies on humans is limited. Therefore, more human studies are needed.
