Abstract

A fat soluble vitam’n D is known as a factor trcatıng rachitsm. Lately, ıt became more important upon the dıscovery o f vitamin D funetioning as a hormone. The aetive form of vitamin D as a hormone is 1,25 dıhydroxyc olecalciferol. In this paper, the properties the cffects in the body, inadequat3 and toxic situations of vitamin D were reviewed.
