Abstract

In this third paper on the determination and therapy o f renal disc-ases, the acute renal and the clıronic renal failures are discussed and their therapies are given. In the acute renal failure, the functions of kidneys are shortcned or disappear during the failure. For it’s therapy, acit— base equilibrium, electrolyte levels, acidosis and hypertension m ust be tried to maintain at reasonable levels. In the diet therapy, necessary calorie, protein at endogen level, sodium and potassium according to levels of serum and urine electrolytes and liquid according to patient’s abligatory water output are to be given. In patients with chronic renal failure, few functioning nephrons remain and ali other systems of organizm are effected fro m this. Extreme of chronic renal failure is called as urem ia. In the therapy, nacessary calorie, protein of high biologcial value, sodium and potassium with respect to their values in b lood and urine, liquid according to paticnt’s water output, low phosphate, necessary calsium and vitamin D must be givîn. H em odialysis or if possible kidney transplantation must be done.
