Abstract

In this study, 5000 adult men and vvomen who applied to outpatient clinic at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Hacettepe University Hospital, were examined. The study was conducted between 1983 -1984 över one year to find out the incidence and the distribution of their diseases with respect to their aee, sex, occupation and their settlement in Turkey. From the results of the study, it was concluded taht the most common diseases were ulcer, diabetes, obesity and coronary heart diseases; of which first three were widespread among middle age housewifes. Coronary heart diseases were equally common in both sexes without occupational difference.
