A Study On The Comparison of the Methods Used In The Estimation of Basal Metabolic Rate and The Relationship Betiveen Basal Metabolism and Lean Body Mass
Keywords:
metabolizmaAbstract
This study had been conducted on 30 healthy women aged betweeiı 25 - 40 years old. 15 women were normal vveight and 15 were moderately obese. The relationship betvveen lean body mass (LBM) and basal metabolic rate (BMR) were found statistically significant (r = 0.797). The values of BMR calculated frorn lean body mass, had the values nearest to the BMR obtained from oxygen consumption.
