Abstract

The ııse o f plastics ın food packaging is \videspread in industrıalized countries. Plastic cotıtainers composed o f the copolymer polyethylene terephthalate ar e inereasıngly being ıısed in the food and beverage indııstry. However, it is vvell knovrtı that food ma\ beconıe contaminated with components o f plastics by the dijfusion process known as nıigration. The Information aboııt the natııre of Chemicals released into foodstuffs and their health ejfects is stili not complete and more research is needed, in pcırticular for the nıigration o f potential mııtagenidcarsinogenic substances. in tlıis paper, the ııse o f PET and glass bottles in natıırel mineral \vaters packagtng, potential ejfects o f these cotıtainers on health ar e revie\ved.
