The Relatıonshıps Betvveen Mothers Employment and Nutrıtıonal Status Of Adolescents

Nutritional status of 75 adolescents with employed mothers were compared with those of 94 adolescents with nonemployed mothers. 84 % of adolescents w ith employed mothers and 64.9 % of adolescents w ith nonemployed mothers ate breakfast regulary (p < 0.05). Adolescents of employed mothers were effected by the advertisements (p < 0.05). There were significant differences between th e body weights of adolescent girls comparing to standards (p < 0.05). Adolescent boys vvith employed mothers had diets that were lower (p < 0.05, p < 0.01) fo r energy, protein , calcium, niacine and vitamin C than did adolescents with nonemployed mothers. Statistically significance was found in the in take of vitamin A betvveen adolescent girls of employed and nonemployed mothers.
