Abstract

The most important adaptation to low energy intake is to have a low body weight. The other adaptations may be the total of the different small economical sources such as the change on BMR, which is expected to be less than 10%. There is no definite evidence in increasing the ability of the muscle function. It may be more efficient to \vork slovvly in certain conditions. To accomplish low body protein intake by reducing the nitrogen loss is well documented. But what is stili unknovvn is that the degree of the effect of long lasting adaptation lowering the limits. It is not possible to show this lowering limits on humans ıınder research conditions. Studıes vvhich had done under the epidemiological conditions show that the energy is the more limiting factor than protein.
