Abstract

Polyunsatura ted fatty acids have different characteristics in their resources and the efficiency of metabolic productions W-3 W-6 series of polyu n sa tu ra ted fatty acids funtion to produce different eicosonaids using the same enzymes. So, there is a competition between two series of polyunsaturated fatty acids. If they are ingested together, W-3 series of p o lyunsaturated fatty acids win this competition. It is determined that eicosonaids which are deri ved from W-3 and W-6 series of p o lyunsaturated fatty acids are related to different kinds of diseases such as, atherosclerosis, rheuma toid arthritis and ulcer.
