Blood Glucose Response To Some Fruıts In Healthy Subjects

Abstract

The blood glucose response to some fruits (grape, tangerine, sweet apple, sour apple were studied in healthy subjects aged b e tween 19-29 years old. Blood glucose levels were measured at zero time and than at 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes after ingestion of fruits. Dextrose was used as a control in this study. Maximum blood glucose responses were recorded 30 minutes after ingestion of each fruit and dextrose. A significant relationship was observed only between tangerine and sour apple (p < 0.05) but not with other fruits. Although differences are not significant the lowest blood glucose response was found with so u r apple.
