Abstract

Pesticides used for crop production pose risks with their residııes to erıvironnıent and humatı health by cotıtaminating foods . Although the levels of contaminants can be reduced by techtıological processing, they can not be fit Uy removed from food products and these low level residues accumulate in living organisms. Sııch ehemicals are kııown as carcinogenic, teratogeııic and mutagenic. Orgaııochlorine (OC) pesticide residue concentratiotı in humatı adipose tissııe is the most ejfective indicator in order to det ermine the enviromental and food related contaminants. Necessary precautions must be taken fo r the opposite effects of pesticides of which are risk for humatı health.
