Abstract

In this cross-sectional study the grovvth and nutritional status of a sampte group of 922 children aged 0-6 years old is assessed by using weight-for-age standards. It is found that 32.0% of the study group were underweight. The educational level of the mothers, number of living children in the family and the duration of breastfeeding vvere found to be the most significant factors affecting the growth and nutritional status of the children.
