Interactıons Between Vitamin A And Immune System

Abstract

In this review, the interaction between vitamin A and immune system has been discussed as humoral and cellular levels. Although the protective effects of vitamin A against numerous disease has been clearly demonstrated, the exact mechanism by which they afford this protection is not completely understood. Several studies in laboratory animals, have shovvn impaired the function of immune system and resulting from the vitamin deficiency may account for increased susceptibility to infection.
