Abstract

The effects of consuming boiled peppermint and thyme mixture on blood cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL), total lipid and glucose have been examined on 8 subjects who had some problems vvith their cardiovascular systems for one month. According to the results obtained, there was no significant effect of the peppermint-thyme mixture upon the levels of HDL and triglyceride. On the other hand, the same mixture caused % 6.8, % 3.4, % 19.3 decrease in the levels of blood cholesterol, total lipid and glucose respectively. In addition, it was searched whether subjects consumed energy and food elements sufficiently or not.
