Abstract

This study was undertaken to determine the mothers knowledge about infant nutrition on 1428 women with 0-24 months old children in Ankara, İstanbul, Muğla, Yozgat, Sivas and Tokat. The anhropometric measurements of children were found in normal ranges accoding to weight, height, head and upper mid arm circumperence standards (respectively 73.7%, 88.0%, 74.9%, 83.5%). The questions were asked to determine the mother's knowledge about infant nutrition and 63.4% of mothers were given correct answers. As a result of this study an effective and continous nutrition education is recommended in correcting the wrong habits, beliefs and practices of mothers.
