Short Bowel Syndrome and Nutrition

Abstract

Short bowel syndrome is generally characterized with surgical resectiotı of a big portion of the small bowel and decremetıt of the absorptive area. Severe diarrhea and malnutrition may occur. This article reviews etiol° gy> physiopathology, clinic phases, bowel adaptation and therapy of short bowel adaptation and therapy of short bowel sydrome.
