Abstract

A fistula is an anomalous communication between two epitheliazed surfaces. In general, enterocutaneous fistulas arise from iatrogenic or spontaneous causes. Postoperative complications account for the majority of cases (approximately 85% to 90%). İnitial management of enterocutaneous fistulas involves intravenous fluid therapy, broad – spectrum intravenous antibiotic therapy, surgical therapy and nutritional support therapy. Vital to positive outcome in patients with enterocutaneous fistulas is adequate nutrition support. Therefore we presented nutritional support management of an enterocutaneous fistulas case.
