Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that has the ability to imitate thought processes, learning abilities, and knowledge management. Artificial intelligence applications are finding more and more application area in experimental and clinical medicine. Artificial intelligence applications in the field of nutrition and dietetics can be grouped under 4 main headings: assessment of nutritional status, diet planning, diet-disease relationship and anthropometric measurements. Traditional methods of food consumption records and anthropometric measurements, which are methods used in the assessment of nutritional status, have some disadvantages in themselves. In order to prevent these disadvantages, photos of foods are taken or wearable devices that are sensitive to sound and motion are developed. At the point of diet planning, personalized diet plans can be created by entering the information of individuals. The remarkable point here is that the system does not act independently of the health professional in diet planning. In addition, there are applications that predict the risk of nutrition-disease development in line with the information of the person. Finally; body muscle mass percentage prediction models based on artificial intelligence algorithms and biomedical signals and body fat mass percentage prediction models based on machine learning methods and electrocardiography signal have been developed. It is reported that the results obtained by artificial intelligence in all these areas have high accuracy in the studies. Developing technology and rapid development in the field of artificial intelligence is promising in determining the nutritional status and creating personalized diet plans quickly and reliably.
