Media is widely used for informational purposes. Nutrition is one of the most searched topics beside of being one of the most difficult ones to access to the right information. In order to improve the public health, written and visual media are used as a tool. Media is the primary source that shapes and seriously affects individuals’ attitudes, opinions and behaviors. Many studies on obtaining health information show that individuals are following written and visual media, mostly health programs and health news on television as a source of information. There is a lot of news in the written and visual media about its usefulness in controlling diabetes. It has been proved by studies that many individuals are under the influence of these news. Health news in the written and visual media, which will affect the health of the public, are often prepared without emphasizing it enough, without questioning its authenticity and appropriateness to science. It would be right to think at least twice in health news, not to give people false hope or despair. Health news should be shared by experts and reviewed by relevant institutions.
