Factors Affecting Hypertension and Blood Pressure in the Community

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most important noncommunicable one among chronic diseases. To reduce high blood pressure and complications nutrition therapy has a great importance. Nutrition therapy increases the effect of pharmacological medicines and helps to decrease medicine dosage. Especially, DASH is known as Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension has an important influence to reduce blood pressure. In this review; prevalence and complications of hypertension, risk factors for blood pressure and medical nutrition therapy in hypertension are explained.
